School Meals

We are proud to work with Chartwells Schools for your children’s school dinners. Chartwells believe that the key to fueling young minds comes from understanding both what they need and what they enjoy, which is why they develop nutritious and delicious food that pupils love, whilst helping to ensure a healthy body and mind.

Their passionate culinary experts work closely with us to ensure every child receives healthy food, perfectly suited to meet their needs and dietary requirements.

Chartwells’s Food Super Heroes make food education fun, whatever the age, and their tasty theme days encourage children to make the most of their school meal. To find out more about Chartwells, visit their website or contact the school catering team.

If your child has a food allergy or intolerance and you would like to discuss this, please the Chartwells medical diet nutrition team directly via their email address. (Email address is chartwells.medicaldiets@compass-group.co.uk.)

Here at Willington Primary School we understand the importance of good nutrition and we are proud to have been awarded a Healthy School Status. We offer a hot meal with a wide range to choose from, including a vegetarian option and special diets if your child has a medical need. Children can also bring a packed lunch from home.

The cost of a school meal  is £2.50 per day.

Medical Diets

We know that feeding children with food allergies or intolerance can cause a lot of anxiety for both parents and schools. That’s why Chartwells have implemented a market-leading allergens process, and make sure every step is taken to ensure that our students can enjoy school meals safely with their friends. More information on their medical diet process can be found here. (Email address is chartwells.medicaldiets@compass-group.co.uk.)

  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit – if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
Apply and allow us to check your eligibility
